The Build Process

From your first consultation to the moment we hand you the keys, our process is designed to be transparent, organized, and enjoyable.

Step 1 — Lot Feasibility. Whether you already own a lot in Arlington, are considering a teardown-and-rebuild, or need help finding the right property, we’ll start by evaluating the site’s possibilities and any limitations. Step 4 — Permits. Once your architectural plan and grading plan are complete, we submit for permits.

Step 5 — Construction. During the build, your dedicated Project Manager will schedule framing and drywall walkthroughs to keep you informed and involved throughout the process.

Step 6 — Closing. Before we hand the home to you, we’ll do a final walkthrough and discuss the warranty plans included with every Character house.

The typical timeline from initial design consultation to completion runs between 12 and 24 months, depending on the scope and complexity of your project.
